How To Make A Wishing Well Planter / Garden Ornament
Wishing wells have always portrayed something magical for me. I love how they look and who knows, maybe the wishes do come true. I saw the Goonies last night and the wishing well scene came on and instantly I said to my hubby “we need one in our garden” I don’t need a big one, I just want a small one so I can plant some shade loving herbs.
In order to construct a lasting wishing well with an attractive look, ideally you need to use redwood, cedar or pine. Also, you must cut on the parts at the correct size, after taking precise measurements and to align them. Drill pilot holes before adding the screws, to prevent the wood from splitting. Work with great care and with attention, if you want to prevent expensive errors. Always seal your wood with food grade wood sealer if you are using it to plant herbs.
