How To Make A Button Lamp

This is a simple and cheap way to make a fire when all your other options have failed. Knowing that this winter may pose a threat of power outages, it is a good idea to be full of knowledge that will keep you and your family safe and warm.
The button lamp tutorial, in the link below, describes how they made it back in the 1800’s in a Laura Ingalls Wilder book. Two things to remember when making this are being sure the fabric and thread are both 100% cotton and keeping the oil in the bottom low.
Also, you don’t always need an emergency to make one of these. They are fun and entertaining for young children with adult supervision. One night, you can get the kids ready for bed early, turn off all the lights and roast marshmallows over this. It’s a great memory maker!
